Time for a update!!

Dear Everybody,

So here I am....I know it took a while (understatement)

This time just a little message to update you.

A lot happend last year, wich means: No Scrapping.

Because of the simple reason that all my stuff is boxed away.

I moved back to Den Helder where I grew up, got a steady job and am starting a new school in january.

I also created a new blog, as some of you already spotted...

That blog is just about Photography. The school I'm going to join is a photographyschool in Amsterdam and I have do a lot of projects for it.

On that blog I will share these projects with you, so you can give me your honest opinion wich I can learn from.

So please check out (this link does no longer exist) and tell me what you think.
As for this blog it still will be a bit quiet around here, but I do hope that it'll change as soon as I've bought a new house with enough space for all of my scrap-stuff....

It promises to be an turbulant, exciting, and very new new year.

Mothersday-gift bags

Dear Everybody,

Last week we went to the biggest scrapshop in Holland. It's about 2,5 hour drive from my home, but we were near there anyway so why not stop?

I still had a giftcertificate for the shop, wich I got from my mother-in-law last christmas. As you can see I've bought a lot, this means lots of scrap fun!!

Mothersday.

Here are the presents I made;

the orange-one for my mother-in-law and the blue-one for my own mother. The blue-one says "happy birthday" because my mother was born on May 9th wich conveniently is always nearby mothersday.

The gift-bags were actually hard to make, because I could'nt find a model for it, so I made them out of my own imagination. And offcourse there was a personal present inside.

That's it for now. I hope to scrap something this weekend, but it's going to be busy; saturday I have to work and go to a birthday and sunday I really need to do some cleaning around the house and some yard-work. Hope to show you something soon....

Dear Everybody,

This time I've created a LO about mini-me.

It was a challenge on Scrappassion to show you're own schoolpicture (want to know more? check here ).

I've picked this picture, it was taken in 1991 at "De Savornin Lohman school". I was 6 years old at the time. The school doesn't exist anymore since 1996.

Tomorrow will be a creative day because Mandy, Melissa and I are going to paint, scrap, take pictures and enjoy the sunshine.

Just sharing some pictures of London

Dear Everybody,

Here are some of the 225 pictures I took during our 4-day visit to London.

The classic phonebooth, wich stood right in front of our hotel.

Here we are standing next to the Thames and on the other side if you look closely you can see The Eye of London, we've been inside aswell but it took us forever because the line to get in was extremly long....

And offcourse the Towerbridge. We've crossed it and been inside.

Here's a pic of Symon standing on the bridge. He's got his 'are-you-taking-a-picture-of-me-again' face on.

The beef-eater, he's suppose to be garding the Tower but here he's just standing around and posing.

Symon took a picture of me while I was posting a card to his grandmother.

The really Big Ben, wich from this angle doesn't seem to be so big.

Here's us standing on the edge of Sint Paul's Catheral with it's beautiful view.

If you're in England, you need to eat Fish-and-Chips!

The last day we had some time left and decided to spend it laying in the grass in front of the Big Ben, here is our view of it (as you can see the weather was lovely!)

Dear Everybody,

Well I'm (we are) back in Holland!
We truly loved London, and maybe we'll go back there some day.
There's a lot to see....and off course I took enough pictures to make a lot of new projects (225 in 4 days to be exact!!)

So here's one already, It's a Challenge on CP4U again. I love that blog, it's filled with inspiration.
It's called "Spring is in the air" and it's about using bold spring colours.
I took this picture of Symon and I, while we're laying in the grass right in front of the Big Ben, enjoying the sun and our surroundings.

Also made this birthday card for Jarno. ( Mandy's boyfriend)

Dear Everybody,

Made this LO about Symon. He's not always so happy when I pull my camera out of my bag and he has to pose for me. But this picture turned out nice. I made it while we were at the bowling ally in Deventer (Overrijsel).

This was it for now, I know a short little blog but I need to pack my bags right now because tomorrow morning (we're going to try to catch the early train of 05:00 am!!) we are going on vacation. And you've probably guessed it...destination London!
That does mean that you won't see me here next week. But after that I've got enough material for a lot of new projects...

Dear Everybody,

I've bought some "naked" babushka's wich I'm going to paint with Mandy and Melissa some time this month. And that inspired me to make a little painting..

I'm not so happy about it, but here it is

And we also went to the "Tropen" museum this week.
That's a museum in Amsterdam all about differant cultures around the world, which used to be dutch kolonies like; South-Afrika, India, Indonesia, Papoa and parts of Mexico. Here are some of the pictures I took.

This is a christmas-card-box I still had laying around my scrap-room and made a puppet-box out of it.

Mine was great...we just had a easy day...loved it.

Clear-Album "Together"

Dear Everybody,

This is my first clear-album I've ever made.
I did have a hard time keeping it clear...:)
As you might have guessed it's called Together.

The picture on the front was taken in Nijmegen.

Winter Wonder

It has been snowing a lot lately in Holland and that means..... pictures.
So Sym and I were taking a walk in the woods in Bergen NH and here is the result.




As you can see; Sym did'nt really want to pose for the picture but it still turned out ok.







Just the two of us in the snow.





I love this picture with the sunset. It turned out ok eventhough my photocamera isn't that good without normal daylight.



And offcourse a picture of Bo...





I like this picture as well. It's the tree behind our house, it stands almost in our backyard.
I'm planning to take pictures of it in all four of the different seasons .

Sharing pictures

Heeey !!!

We'll I've got stuff to share......
First of all;
Do you like my new background? I know it's about being a mom, wich I'm not but I still like it though..

And much much bigger news;

I've got my own new notebook and I love it! It's a HP Pavilion dv6-1320sd In combination with Adobe Photoshop 8.
And the great thing about it is that I'm mainly going to use it for photo's, scrapping and blogging.
Wich means that I'll be here more often than I used to be (for real this time haha)

So anyway the other stuff that I wanted to share are offcourse my scrap-projects wich I made but never published here;
A little book a made about my little nephew Mika and some other stuff soon be published right here, I just need to take some pictures of them.

So that was my little "Mika book"

Hey everybody...

As you can see, I've pimped-up my blog a little bit. Do you like it??

Anyway here are some of my creations I wanted to share.

First of all this LO; the picture was taken during our vacation in "Center Parcs Het Heijderbos".

We were there with my family celebrating a week long my dad's 60th birthday.

This picture is actually taken in Nijmegen where Symon and I went shopping for a day.

And this is a side-shot of the LO

This picture was taken in Utrecht in a apple-orchard we found there hidden away in a park. We visited a friend of the family who lives in Utrecht. It was very pretty there, we also came across a castle...

This is a present I made for Mandy's birthday. Eventhough its already a while ago, I still wanted to share.

She said she wanted to go to "the Efteling" wich is a big popular amusement park in The Netherlands. So I decided to give her a symbolic key for the entrance of the park including tickets, Symon made a poem to go with it.

This is the latest thing I'm working on beside scrapping;

Making stuff out of fabric ;D

The first thing I made is this pincushion, wich is useable on both sides; pink or blue.

More to come with this subject.

This card I made for Yvonne. She turned, as you can see, 50!

I'm back!!!

After a couple of months!
I've been really busy with our new house. And when I actually had time to blog, it took a while to get internet (seriously 2 moths, it's unbelievable)
But now the time has come to update all of you.

I'm so happy I'm back!

And offcourse; I'll have to show you some pictures so here's the first one.

These are some pictures I just needed to share (because I made/got them a month ago :< This is the first one, the prize I won with the Scrapland Challenge (remember??) It contains pink felt ribbon, rhinestone frames and pink gel blossoms!

This lovely packet I got from Mandy for my birthday;
She put in all kinds of stuff, just to much to sum it all up :)
And she also put some self-designed stuff in it (that means it's exclusive!!!)

Heey guys,

Well finally the day has come! We've got the key to our new house!
That does mean that I don't have time to scrap or blog, since we really need to work on it.
What we've done so far; all the wallpaper is gone, the kitchen is allready out and we've broke down a wall.
But there's still a lot left to do.
And because I'm there everyday, I don't think you'll see me here very often.

Scrap-A-Lot??

Hai,
Eventhough I've got a whole month vacation because I've got a new job and start there december 1st, I haven't had time to scrap-a-lot! (Not as much as I wanted to)
But I've managed to make a birthday card and a LO!

This card I made for my friend Denise, as you can guess it was her birthday!
Sorry, the photo's are dark, I know, but there wasn't any light left :(

And this is a picture of what it looks like when it's opened.

This is a LO about the grandfather off my boyfriend.
He was a very special man and he meant a lot to me and Symon, he passed away in 2004.
Since Symon hasn't got a father, his grandfather raised him like a dad.
And since my own grandfather died when I was 7, I looked up to him as my own grandpa.
We still miss him a lot!!

A sneak-peak;

I hope I can scrap some more this week though I'm very busy.
Tomorrow I have to go to a soccer game (AZ-PSV), Thursday it's my birthday, friday we've got a family-day, saturday is the day we get the key to our new house and I'm going to get a "birthday-drink" with my friend Daphne and sunday my parents are coming over to go create our own episode off "Home Improvement" filmed in our new house (cause it's a mess!)
So that means busy, busy, busy!

I went to a workshop of scrapland sunday and this is what we made;
A photoframe decorated with paint and ribbons, the frame is filled with
designpaper, rub-ons, flowers and buttons. It's a picture of
me, Symon, my sister Annika and her boyfriend Maarten.

And this is a birhtday card (bird day) I made for Mandy, I forgot to take
a picture off it and asked her to do it!

I've done it!
Well not yet, but I've decided to take part of it.
I've joined a scrap forum and they always have challenges (competitions).
They come up with a sketch, and you can try to make a LO with it. (in this case, Mandy made the sketch). The closing date is september the 30st
Who ever gets the most votes wins a price. I've made a LO but it's not
quite ready yet. Just some finishing touches.
Then I'll put it on the site and hope with my fingers crossed.
It would be nice to win, but I'm just excited already to take part of it.
Maybe I like it so much, I will join other challenges they've got.
I don't know yet, I'm just trying out this one!
I will keep you updated...If you're intrested.

BBQ & Karting....

Hi ya'll
I've got two new LO's;

The first one is about a BBQ we planned, we just didn't know that it was
going to rain (and I mean a lot!)
And because we're all very resourcefull;
The girls stayed warm and dry inside setting the table and watching a movie while doing that,

Hey everyone,

Since we're not going on vacation this year (and we also skipped last year), I thought a lot about our vacation in New York two years ago.
It was so unforgetable I decided to make another LO about it.
I had enough pictures left and there were also a lot cute embies about NY to make a total new LO.

My mom, my sister and I went shopping for maternity clothes for
my sister. (Yes, she's pregnant and I'm going to be a aunt, I'm so
excited!)
We stopped for a drink and asked the waitress to take a picture of
the three of us.
I'm sorry if it's a bit fuzzy I took the picture of the LO in the dark!

"home sweet Holland"

Hey guys,
I already made this LO; but I never found the time to put it on my site (untill now that is).
These are two different windmills. The biggist picture is that of the windmill I see every day when I look outside my window. It is especially pretty in the evening, when it is decorated with all sorts of lights.
The second windmill, the smaller one, is standing in a meadow in Egmond. That's a village nearby.
That inspired me to make a Holland LO!!

For the journaling I just used a piece of the dictionary;

I promise that there will be some new LO here pretty soon!

Sorry,
This time no LO or other scraps.
I must admit that I am busy with a lot!
I've started working more, we've bought a house and
are covered in paper work and my sister is pregnant; she asked me
if I could make her a "baby-album".
So that's why it's a bit quit around here.
Though I have made some LO but I just need to take pictures of them before
I can show y'all. So I promise you there will be some action going on here in the near future.
By the way, this was the last time I changed my title. But I'm still fixing the coulors and stuff!

Light and bright blue

Hey everybody;
I lately caught myself using a lot of light blue (I call it bright blue).
Here are two of 'em.

This one is a LO of my family, the picture was made in Kos. Because there's a swimming pool and palmtrees in the background I desided to use the brightly sun-ripe stripe line from Imaginisce

We also went to a party with a couple of people;

The weekend we went to Den Bosch....

Some time ago Jarno, Mandy, Symon and me went to Den Bosch for the weekend.
Back then I didn't find the time to make a scrap about it, but I did now so here it is.
It became a little book, I'll talk you through it;

"Den Bosch"
This picture was taken in the hotel bar by the hotel klerk, we were
the only ones there.

"Best Western Euro Hotel"
The picture we taken on Mandy and Jarno's bed just before going out.

"Movie?"
We went to a movie called "Jumper". It was about a guy who could
jump to any place he wanted. (maybe you've seen it)
I saved the tickets but I had to get the flyer of the internet.

"Pink & Lemon"
This lunchroom was incredible; it was all pink and girlie.
Jarno and Symon were the only guys there (they were really
ashamed for being there!)

"Throw a penny in the fountain for good luck"

We also came across this fountain and shot some pictures.
We actually had to stand in the middle of traffic because the fountain
was on a round about.

"Bossche Bol?"
This was a lunchroom wich served the best Bossche bol, we were told.
That's a big round thing made out of chocolate and filled with whipped cream and
some other stuff I don't know. It's a real delicatesse and you can not go to Den Bosch
and not have eaten a Bossche Bol.

"The Zoo"
We visited the "Beekse Bergen" zoo.
It's a regular zoo but you can also take a safari by car to see all
the wild animals walking around freely, wich we did.
We saw all kinds of wild animals and took a whole lot of pictures,
but I couldn't use all of them.
(oh yeah, Jarno also spotted a wild smurf!)

"Mexico"

These are pictures I took in/of the Mexican restaurant we ate one evening.

The thing Mandy and me both orderd was actually not very tasty : $

It was suppose to be chicken but it didn't taste like it.

"Let's play some pool!"

We had some time left so we desided to play some pool.

And no I can't remember who won, because we played a lot of games.

"I love scrapping"

In Heesch, that's just out of Den Bosch is the biggest scrapshop in

Holland.

So Mandy and me went there to do some shopping (we both bought

a whole lot of stuff/junk haha) while the guys went to the casino and

lost they're money in a different way.

The picture on the bottom is just a bit of what I bought that day!...

"McDonalds"

On the way back home (it was about a 2 hour drive)

we went to grab a snack at....made some funny pictures and

I thought I had to make a scrap about it.

Hii!

I made this card for my mom;
Her birthday was on may 9th and mothersday was on
may 11th.
So I combined it into one present.
I made her this card (and for all you people out there who can't read the date;
she was born on 09-05-1957! She'd kill me if she knew I'd put the date on the internet haha)

On the back of the card I made a envelop wich was filled with euro's (she wanted to get a mani/pedi and facial)

Just wanted to share this,
these 2 lay-outs:

Sometimes you need to take you're pets out for a walk.
My friend Denise has a horse and a dog and they needed to go for a long
walk.
And since we live in Holland, our solution was to take them by bike.
So here's the result...
(though it looks a bit strange)

And when we want to enhance the work spirit, my collegues and I go out to have fun
without work!
And this time we went to a Greek restaurant with 7 girls and 1 guy.
We had lots of fun though the food wasn't that great nor was the staff, But
that didn't ruin our night!

And now I'm going to enjoy the lovely weather outside!

Heya, just an update on my lay-outs!

Bath Time;
This lay-out is all about how Bo loves to take a bath (not!)...
Well he's a cat; he's not suppose to love it! But he has to take
one every once in a while.

Easter (breakfast);
This one is when me and my friends had easter breakfast;
we'd first stayed the night at Ruud & Denise's house.
We did not have much sleep so that's why we don't look so happy : )

Take a walk with me;
My boyfriend, parents and I went to take a walk in Schoorl, that's a
small town in our neighbourhood.
It's beautifull out there and off course I had to take my camera!

The Beer-Trick;
Sometimes when we go out with our friends, they are so generous
that you're standing there with more than one drink in you're hand.
You've got to come up with something and therefor the beer trick.

It's actually not funny at all, but if you're standing there having a blast
and you have a camera in you're hand, you know what happens!
I guess you just had to be there...

It's been a while

Hey guys,
Like the title shows; it's been a while, since my last blog.
But I have been busy and here's the evidence;

For my sister's 27th birthday I made her a photo frame filled with sister stuff and 2 pictures of us when we were kids:

And that's not all;

I also made 4 lay-outs;

Family day out; This picture of Symon (L) and his nephew Folkert (R) was taken at the birthday party of Symon's grandmother she turned 85.

The whole family went out to eat pizza or (and, for some) pancakes.

These are pictures I took when Jarno and Mandy came over to our house, since I got a chocolate fondue set from work (for Christmas) we all thought it was time to try it out. We had a blast!

And this picture was taken during a Mega Pirates Festival, it was a party with only Dutch music;

I don't know why they call it a MPF!

From left to right;

Bo is my cat, he likes to watch the birds fly by and since a live in a appartment on the 4th floor, he's got a lot of bird watching to do.

Heey,
This is a little strarbook I made for the 58th birthday of my mother in law.
She said she wanted some pictures of us.

I began with cutting 3 differant types of paper with differant sizes and glued them together on the edges. (2 of them cardstock 1 of them design)
I made a front and back with a piece of chipboard wich I decorated with design paper. Then took some lace put a couple of beads on them ( this was for closing the starbook or opening it up as a star.)
Then I glued it all together, put a little bookbinderscloth in between.
And than decorated it with the usual : )

This lay-out is about the cinnamon drink we've got from the terras owner at Kos;
it is a light sirop made out of cinnamon, geraniums, sugar and a secret ingredient.

So here it is 2008, the big year full of good things and good luck ( I hope)
I wish you all a very happy newyear, may all you're dreams come true!

My dream for this year is to buy our new house; wich we haven't found yet but we will I'm sure of it!

Anyway here are some of my latest projects ( I've got some others on the stack already but I still need to take a picture off them)

"He's my tough guy"; Symon is riding on a quad in Kos, Greece

"What is my fortune?"; We both love to crack open fortune cookies, just for the fun of it.
I saved some of the fortunes, which you probably can't read in the picture so here are they written down:
